Family papers, 1769,1854. Included here are deeds (4), a letter from Silas Hart, 1854, and the last will of Charles Goff, written on Oct. 8, 1832 and probated on Nov. 19, 1832 in Monroe County (Mich.). The deeds include (3) for land in Conn., 1769 to Comfort Goff, and 1780 and 1784 to Charles Gof, and one for land in Genesee County (Mich.) partially owned by James M. Goff and his wife, Laina E., 1854. The will mentions Charles' beloved daughters, Deborah Purtons, Hannah Remington, Esther Alkn, Betsy Tupper, and Asnnah Brainurd, his son, Charles W. Goff, and Charles' wife, Anna. There is also a letter to Isaac Hough, Bucks County (Pa.) from Silas Hart, Augusta County (Conn.?), May 3, 1777, discussing family affairs and religion. Most of the items are in pieces, extremely acidic, brittle, and acid-stained.

Charles W. Goff was an artillery officer during World War I. He held the rank of Lieutenant and traveled from the United States to France as part of the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF).
